Only to discover they raised the price to Rs.15. That’s 25% inflation on egg sandwiches in the past year. In similar developments, chai went up from 3 to 4 rupes in the last month. How am I supposed to keep a budget under these conditions? Capitalism is truly a chaotic mode of social organization.
The other street food I like is iced golas.
They keep a giant block of ice in the gutter under a towel. When it comes time for more ice just rinse off the cow diarrhea and deet powder and grind it up in a big Victorian circus machine. Now garnish with lemon syrup and masala spices!
